2014 Treehouse Pinot Gris Rosé
Our skin-fermented Pinot Gris is dry, tannic, and full of structure. Having oxidized somewhat in the barrel, the ’14 Orange Wine shows sherry-like notes of dried fruit, raisins, and amaretto. Drink now or cellar for several years.
Vines: Block D
Production: 192 cases
Barrel regimen: Fermented in stainless on skins and aged 18 months
Block D is our oldest block, planted in 1997, and contains 1.4 acres of fruit. It has the highest density of the Vista Hills blocks, with 2,180 vines per acre. It has an elevation of 800-840 feet.
Vista Hills Vineyard:
Our 42-acre, LIVE certified sustainable vineyard rests atop the storied Dundee Hills in Dayton, Ore. We are nestled between Domaine Serene to the East and stunning Valley views to the West, thirty-five miles southwest of Portland. Our vines occupy some of the most sought-after terrain in the region.
The resident Jory soil is brick-red in color and dense with nutrients. Its exceptional draining capacity is ideal for the area's many wet months. While half of our acreage is used for the Vista Hills label, the remaining fruit is sold to a host of local producers including Dobbes Estate, Adelsheim Vineyard, Le Cadeau, White Rose Wines and Elizabeth Chambers Cellar.
