2016 Geraldine Pinot Noir

In 1919, straight out of high school, Geraldine Foster rode her neighbor's horse every day to teach in a drafty one-room schoolhouse. She spent summers hopping trains out West to work in national parks. When she bought a popcorn machine from Curly Walker, with whom she later eloped, a life full of travel and adventure was guaranteed. And that turned out to be the foundation of a good life.

Tasting notes: Freshly picked Montmorency cherry & dry cinnamon

Vista Hills Vineyard:

Our 42-acre, LIVE certified sustainable vineyard rests atop the storied Dundee Hills in Dayton, Ore. We are nestled between Domaine Serene to the East and stunning Valley views to the West, thirty-five miles southwest of Portland. Our vines occupy some of the most sought-after terrain in the region.

The resident Jory soil is brick-red in color and dense with nutrients. Its exceptional draining capacity is ideal for the area's many wet months. While half of our acreage is used for the Vista Hills label, the remaining fruit is sold to a host of local producers including Dobbes Estate, Adelsheim Vineyard, Le Cadeau, White Rose Wines and Elizabeth Chambers Cellar.
